Reflections - Archive 2006

The theme for this year's reflection will be Living Water. This seems very appropriate for us in Restoration Ministries having just seen the completion of Rose’s water project in Nigeria. All of the reflections are about rivers and wells and pools and thirst. In that sense they are about the very basics of life, about our relationships with the God the Father who is the source of all life, God the Son who comes to show us what real life is, and God the Holy Spirit who is the spring of life-giving water empowering us to do and to be much more that we could every hope for or even imagine.

It is not only our own land so parched by fear and bitterness and a lack of understanding of the other that is thirsty for signs, of peace and of friendship, but many parts of the world, some of which have lived a much more anguished history than ours.

Our prayer would be that, in reflecting on these sharings, living water may flow for each of us as individuals, for our communities and for this world.

May we all drink deep – and be at peace.
